Taking It Back

This card is one of my first ever made.  It is back when Loads of Love was a new stamp set and the brilliant bright family was all I ever used.  Man have things changed!!  What was your favorite stamp set and colors to stamp with when you first started? My first party was in my one room apartment and we were stamping on my counter tops while standing, sitting on the floor with the coffee table....ahhh...good times!  Also know that I will be looking into a light tent as for some reason my picture taking ability has gone down hill??

Everything here is Stampin' Up!

Boatloads of Love

Have you ever seen a stamp set in your closet that you were like "I HAVE to use this stamp set" - no rhyme or reason you just feel the need to use that stamp set?  This was one of those situations! Actually...I have a friend who wants this stamp set and since I don't really use it much I said she could use it for as long as she likes!  I just felt the need to ink it up one more time before it left my house!

Visitation Cards

First I am going to apologize as these pictures are not as clear as my normal....I know where not to take pictures now!  But any-hoo...

My pastor approached me needing some cards, but not regular cards as he would put it.  He wanted something that could be left at people's houses on visitation night if they were not home.  I forgot the phone number on the first 4 I made but thank goodness I had only made 4!  Pastor Josh told me to do whatever, but make sure it wasn't overly girly for the men out there.  I think that I did okay! I also made them as postcards to be able to do more with less in the paper department. The majority of them are the blue color as I think blue is a heavenly color.

The green I didn't love as much, but I still like it!  I now see that the paper wasn't exactly centered on this one also!!

So today I was going to post another project when I realized - I need to make some more! I guess I need to make ahead so I can not have this happen again! HA!  I called myself a dork for this one!  Time to go do some blog visiting and play with my Ryley who is holding her feet rolling on her back from side to side.....looks like tickle time!  While I am at that - why don't you check out my family?

I think they are pretty awesome!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge (Yes I know It Is Not Tuesday)

Here is a card I did for the "Tuesday Throwdown Challenge" and boy did this one throw me for a loop! I decided to use their stamped background challenge and make it more of a challenge than it needed to be. I stamped on Vellum....what a mess - you can see my little mistakes here and there...not thrilled, but it wasn't that bad. You should hop on over and check it out!

Two Challenges In One!

I love me some Riley Moose and thought I would pull him out for a challenge or two....the lucky part is I found two challenges with the same type of guidelines - BONUS!  This card works for the challenge over at Danielle's "A Cause For Cards" Blog - which is a great blog with a great cause - how can you not at least check it out?  All cards sent go to the organization so they can sell to raise funds!  The second challenge that this works for is one of 2 going on in relation to the TUIC group (I am hosting a challenge - please look at Monday's post!) over at "D-Dazzled Designs" blog.  Check them out and see what you think...great challenges!

Here is my question for you - how do you list your items used to give proper credit?

Scrap Madness

I am working with a new set of scraps....the scrap page from Sunday actually was when it started and it has just kept going!  All this week as a matter of fact!  I am still kind of in shock at the amount of scraps that I have and at no point did I ever stop and say "Hey I really don't need to buy anything for a long time - now do I?" Geesh shows how much this world has changed or how good the marketing is! :)

Yes - the BRAK's are done for this month - but I still have friends and family to send to - so I am not onto February BRAK cards yet.

Base Cardstock: Georgia Pacific 110 Lb.
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink Pink (Official Color Name ?)
DSP: Good Question - no idea
Stamp: Stampin' Up!
Embellishments: Making Memories Brads, Unity Stamp Company, Stampin' Up! Corner Punch

Did you notice I did this cared vertical?  I could have also just used this paper for the inspiration from the challenge I have going on - but I thought I needed to work a little harder in my own challenge! :)

Finally Friday

So you have seen me all week with my scrap used cards and that has not changed, but I thought I might menton something that kind of made me chuckle while making cards yesterday.  I must really like this stamp set by Stampin' Up! called "Let Them Eat Cake." I mean I have used this stamp set in ALL my birthday cards so far.  All of them. I wanted this stamp set and put it off and put it off and went to buy it after it retired. Way to go silly. I ended up finding a friend named Misty who had it and sold it to me.  God bless her too as she didn't charge me out the wazoo for it.  Just kind of made me chuckle while stamping. You may not think the same though!

New Set of Scraps for BRAK

So the next set of scraps I pulled up has one of my favorite colors - purple!  I can honestly tell you I have no clue where this paper came from, the textured card stock came from All That Scraps online store, the ribbon is PaperTrey Ink that I bought from my dear friend Michelle (visit her blog via the link on the sidebar - very good!!). I again tried to go vertical becuase it is something kind of new to me (Hee, Hee). I also tried to use a paper punch that I have not used in years - can't remember the last time I used it...that long.  Sad thing is, is it is a square punch - how many times could use that in the course of making cards?  Seesh....I really need to stop hoarding!

BRAK - Day #3

I think I like this one the best...plus it was the last one I made with these particular couple of scraps I grabbed...I told myself  I had to use them all...all that I could and what I didn't use that day was gone...no more over saving scraps...becuase sometimes they are just that scraps...unless someone has a use for these little left-overs!!

I typically don't make vertical cards (no particular reason) so I made one!! I hope you like I tried to be creative with my picture taking too - I always like when people go the extra mile to make even that look good!!

BRAK - January

So for this month's round of BRAK - Birthday Random Acts of Kindness I decided to make some different cards instead of an assembly line like I ususally do!  I also decided to use scraps that I had saved to use later and just never used!  I think that is something I want to do more of this year - use what I have and not spend (we had to put in two transmissions, pay off a school debt sooner than expected, and some other mis-fortunes along the way). I am putting my self on a spending freeze so I can catch back up - but don't feel bad for me at all...you should see what all I have to work with!  I have my own little store!
But anyways - back to the point here...I made these cards to give and now I am not sure if I want to! Isn't that just typical??!!

Happy New Year - Bring on 2011!

I always say that each year I will set resolutions and keep them...I am leaning on the side of not making them and just plain doing more. I figured that might be a good approach for me as I am one of those people who gets anxious about things that are written down.  Silly - I know.  One thing I decided I would do though (ans yes this is writing it down, but it is more telling you - HA!) is complete more birthday cards. I am in the BRAK (birthday random act of kindness group) through Splitcoaststampers.  We get assigned people to send birthday cards to. I love it! I just think this year I will try and send to more people than I am "assigned" to as it is more fun than work to me!  Here is one of the cards I sent out last month. I just kept one to send to my brother - hence the manly colors.

Ink: {Ippity}
Paper: {Ippity}
Ribbon: Wal-Mart (?? Brand)
Card Stock: White is Georgia Pacific 110 lb.
Card Stock: Green is Olive Green from Stampin' Up!
Stamp: Let Them Eat Cake from Stampin' Up!

I hope that your New Year will include my blog!
