Talkative Tuesday

I am back!
We have had a busy week or so and I will fill you in here!

T-Ball started - you would never know it from this picture but Abby actually cried the first two innings of the game....go figure.

Check out more photos of Abby and her watergirl sister here:

I have entered a couple auctions on Facebook. I have been doing  packs of cards and notebooks like the one below.  I love notebooks as I am an avid list maker and I write all things down.

Nick and I went on an Army Strong Bonds Marriage Retreat at Myrtle Beach with the kids. It was great - or at least I thought! My language is Words of Affirmation.  Nick's is a tie between Quality Time and Acts of Service. I have been doing my homework and am working on "speaking" his language - lets see how he does too.... :)  I highly recommend this to newly weds - I think it would be a great tool to have from the beginning.

I also had my first visit with a doctor about my anxiety issues that have come about in the last 6 months or so.  She gave me some homework and tasks to complete (or not in some cases) and I am excited to work on this and get it fixed!!

Altered Item

SO I have been hoarding things that can potentially be altered. I opened up my closet and decided I should start doing and stop thinking!  Here ya go:

And it was done with all scraps!!

Some Other Things

So I am laughing at my equal opportunity feelings over these pictures.  I took these items to the craft show you might have heard me talk about before.  I took the pictures and felt bad that I had not yet posted them...so I am doing it today!  That is about crazy right?

The last ones were kind of fun...they were Stampin' Up! rub-ons that list a bunch of different but similar sentiments...I thought it would make the items work for everything!  Apparently I was the only one who thought that since I still have them! HA!

Notebooks Galore!

I had made some notebooks for a craft show I was in...here is a few of the ones I made...I am partial to the first one and the second to last one!!  I used everything that I had in my own stash...made it fun to go through that and use it...that is really what I have been trying to do instead of spend money, hoard it, then forget about it!

Gift for a School-Age Girl

One of my co-workers wanted something special for their daughter...and here it is!

I fell in love with this paper when I was shopping online at All That Scraps. I used the Stampin' Up! Corner Punch and crystal brads...the metal letters are the best and of course I still can't remember what they are but I love them!! Thanks Michelle!!

Notebook Set #4

Day #4
So this one was fun....it reminded me of Valentines/Middle School....Don't ask me why but it did!
Lots of pinks and purples from a paper pack that was at Wal-Mart of all places!

I used the SU! spiral punch on this one and some simple brads from Making Memories. I thought this one would be great for the girl who loves love...you know you have some innocent girls like that in your life!

Notebook Set #1

My love of notebooks has gone crazy! I am going to do what some other girls do and post a few days on the same type of thing...my notebook sets! I made them all for a friend to give as hostess gifts for her baby showers. I hope she loves them!

Nick (my dear husband) had the rough job of drinking the Starbucks for me...I hate cold coffee tasting things...they have to have ice and whip cream to be good....oh well -he survived!
The tins I got at Archivers in Ohio for $1 a piece, and the notebooks were on special at Office Max for $1 a piece, and the pens were 5 for $4.19.
The paper on this one was from All That Scraps - great online store! The Stampin' Up! corner punch was of course used as it is my favorite and the brads were also from SU! ~ Courtesy of my purchase from Michelle :)

Bakset of Pampering Love

I like to give gifts, but I hate to spend a ton of money these days - mainly because of my daycare bill! :)
I decided to give a couple friends a surprise gift for helping me out a while ago.
I decided that everyone loves some pampering!

What you see is dollar store basket, pumice stone, pedicure set, and nail polish.
To add my own flare, I altered the tag on the pedi set, provided the rub on sanitizer, and made my own sugar scrub! I found the recipe one night when looking for a conditioner recipe because mine ran out after an episode with the girls in the bath tub - don't ask.

Here is a close-up on the sugar scrub and sanitizer....I love the mason jar look!
Ribbon is from AC More, rub-ons are Stampin' Up!, scraps for the tag are just that...

Noteworthy

I love to make lists. To make lists you need paper and pen/pencils.
I have a crazy thing for notebooks and paper.
I have a crazy thing for lists!
My husband thinks I am a weirdo and to be honest I think it is a little crazy myself at times.
Lists about books to read, crafts to make, sketches of layouts here and there, grocery lists, to-do items, dinner for the week, etc....
Oh well - it is what it is,
So this leads me to my love of notebooks....here were some ones that I made for fun!

I have to be hones here....I know nothing about the designer paper, I think the cardstock and ribbon on the first page are Stampin' Up!, but this was all stuff from my scrap pile and odds 'n ends basket (random embellishments).

Look Ma - Clean Hands!

Okay - In search of teacher's gifts and random gifts for those people that you want to get something for but not necessarily buy something for.
I bought the hand sanitizer at the dollar store, peeled the front label off, and used Goo-Gone for the back label. Found some rub-on's from Stampin' Up! and here you have it!!

I loved these things so much! I so far have made 20 for my ex-boss whom I love dearly, and will be making them for the two craft fairs I have signed up for! Wish me luck for those!!!

Abby's Piggy Bank

My mom and dad came to visit over the New Year holiday and made mention that Abby was old enough to have a piggy bank, which made me realize that I had forgotten it for Christmas.

That was it - my girl was getting a piggy bank!
An emptied and dried apple juice container, scrap pink paper (even though it looks orange), scrap green paper for the name, my cricut, and some clear packing tape later......My little girl has a piggy bank from her momma.
What do you think?

FRONT:
BACK:

Abby loved filling it with coins mainly due to the loud "clunk" sound it made!

Altered Picture Frames...Kind of...

Happy Monday!

First and Foremost - have you stopped over at Fun-Frilled yet this morning?
If not - YOU SHOULD!
Love this Christmas Card? I do too - but I got tired of using the same set over and over again...this was the SU! City of David's last hoorah at the Ritterbeck home....07 In Colors - won't you come back??

Whoe doesn't love an altered item? I gave this gift to a secret pal who's name starts with "p". Is this actually a useful frame or a decoration? It is up to them...fun to decorate though!

My computer seems to be back working better - knock on wood here....
Can't wait to blog hop today as I have missed my girls!

SCS Procrastinators No More Thread!

Alrighty - I could not post these pictures on SCS becuase the size was too big...and here is a quick story for those of you who are not in that thread...Some of us have resolved to not be procrastinators anymore. This month we were challenged to clean our area and of course my husband was in support of that and is even having me make drawings for storage and he is going to build them (when that happens I will acutally believe it). We were also challenged to find some old items in our space and alter them without buying anything....or make something new with the same principle.

The swaps I previously posted fall into this thread as I bought nothing new to make them and yes I did make them all myself Michelle...and the envelopes are clear A2 envies that you can get from SU! or on ebay from random people...LOVE THEM! Especially on cards I made that I want to keep or receive and want to keep...

Here are two things I made...One is for holding images and the bigger is for holding envelopes, address labels and cards to send...I used an box that my envelopes came in and the other belonged to something Longaberger...

Now - the next one is a progression..I bought this cube for some random reason....kept it for a at least two years and now have a reason to alter it - I am not a procrastinator anymore. I used all items I had hoarded....

Here are a couple more items I made with left over paper from the days events...they are pocket calendars to keep in your purse!! I had all of these items before the new year!
