Some Other Things

So I am laughing at my equal opportunity feelings over these pictures.  I took these items to the craft show you might have heard me talk about before.  I took the pictures and felt bad that I had not yet posted them...so I am doing it today!  That is about crazy right?

The last ones were kind of fun...they were Stampin' Up! rub-ons that list a bunch of different but similar sentiments...I thought it would make the items work for everything!  Apparently I was the only one who thought that since I still have them! HA!

The tins I got from Oriental Trading Company, the paper is an AC Paper Pack, the ribbon is Stampin' Up!, and the embellishments are
 K & Company.  I love K & Company!

Notebooks Galore!

I had made some notebooks for a craft show I was in...here is a few of the ones I made...I am partial to the first one and the second to last one!!  I used everything that I had in my own stash...made it fun to go through that and use it...that is really what I have been trying to do instead of spend money, hoard it, then forget about it!

Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper - Oh My! Challenge #2 Entry

So blogger is not letting me type first instead of pictures...silly program.

Anyways...me and the girls of ERPOM had our second challenge. The Ribbon is my inspiration....we had to let a ribbon inspire us.  I kind of cheated though....I have been using papers I have been hoarding and when I saw this ribbon I knew I had a perfect paper that matched!

The ribbon is Stampin' Up! and I have to laugh...my demo Manda Doorley picked it out for me...I told her "I have this much money...send me ribbon."  Since Manda has great taste, I wasn't scared!
The paper is 100% Close To My Heart....patterned, solid red *matching* cardstock background, and *matching* teal corner punched (by Stampin' Up!) cardstock.
Yes folks...it all matched!

Got to Love a Thank You Stash!

SO it is not my stash....but I think I might take a Saturday and create one as I tend to always find myself needing one or a friend needing one!

Close to Cocoa...I will miss you....Stampin' Up! - What have you done??

Close to Cocoa - faux ribbon to separate my two stamped sentiments.

Can I just tell you that a wise friend of mine was telling me about how she buys everything in inclussive packs so that everyting matches.  Close to My Heart paper packs have the matching solid colored paper in their packs....These last two cards were CTMH - and can I just say I am going to order a bunch more of these papers....my fav!

Back to Thank You Cards!

Oh yeah - not done with these!  I used Stampin' Up! Pastel colored cardstock to add to this beautiful argyle.  I LOVE argyle!!  My ribbon is a little crooked, but I am hoping the pattern will draw you away from that little goof.  Yes - I used this stamp a lot...like I said before, I realized I didn't have a bunch of thank you stamps like I thought I did!  Notice that I shyed away from the corner punch and went to the scalloped circle punch by Stampin' Up!  I love their "whale tail" punches...makes it so much easier - better than Creative Memories.

My Husband Is My Hero

A break from creating for this update about "Neighborhood Watch Nick" Moment
So....
It is 5:30 in the morning and my husband randomly gets thirsty. He sees that my truck light is on but thinks that I have "had a moment" and left my light on. When he gets done quenching his thirst he looks back out. He notices that there is a guy walking around the corner of our house. He keeps walking, so Nick opens the front door. The guy looks, walks to my truck, shuts the door, and starts running up the street.
Of course my husband is the macho man's man, and takes of running after him in nothing but his boxer shorts.
The guy apparently had grabbed the 1 lb. bag of M&M's that were in my truck to be sent to Afghanistan to a friend., becuase he threw them, yes threw them at my husband as he was running after him.  I think he was hoping my husband would turn into a cartoon and his feet would look like Fred Flinstone, he would remain in place and get away.  Apparently this guy doesn't know my husband. Nick caught him the next house up. I live in an older development - it wasn't that far from the M&M's.
Nick - typical military guy - decides to "smoke" the guy on his way back once he caught and makes him pick everything up that he threw out of his pockets.  Gets back to the house to ring the doorbell - that apparently doesn't work - Becuase I didn't hear it.  Now I did hear the front door open when the chase began, but I thought my perfect lawn obsessing husband was just starting to water the lawn early....like the movie Field of Dreams or something. Wrong.  ANYWAYS....he decides to kick the door and that worked to wake me up.  I look out the front door and see this man in my lawn with Nick holding him by one hand. I thought the guy was hurt and Nick was helping him - nope, this is when NIck preceeds to tell me that the guy was breaking into my truck.  911 here I come!
The guys kept asking to be let go and swore he didn't take anything, tha tis until Nick pulls out my credit card.  The guy preceeds to say "My bad, just that one thing."  My husband starts talking to him with words I cannot repeat. Intersting morning so far, right?
The 3 cops show up.  The first one walks up while Nick has his knee in the guys back (he tried to get up only once) and comments "How's it going little fella?"  They handcuffed the guy, took our info, and so it goes.
About 4 hours later we get a call and they tell Nick "Thank you."  Understatement of the year.  THe guy had a warrant out for his arrest for 3 SEXUAL OFFENSES.  I have 2 little girls. Not cool.

Let me just tell you. My purse was in my unlocked truck that morning - well every morning.  I grew up in a place where you didn't lock your front door at night even if you weren't home. I was lucky becuase nothing of mine was taken. Well it was but we got it all back.

#1 Lock your doors on everything
#2 Keep your purse inside
#3 Do you really need all those credit/debit cards in your wallet?
#4 A Self-Defense class is not a bad thing. (I have a 45 but am I glad I have my husband!)
My husband is my hero. I am forever thankful that he is the man he is and that he gets thirsty at 5:30 in the morning.

More crafting tomorrow.

Thank You Cards Day 2

Hello!
As I told you all yesterday these are thank you cards I was asked to do for a friend...
I kept the layouts basically the same but varied the papers and such.

I used Close To My Heart papers...couldn't tell you which pack it is but I love this one! I also used the Stampin' Up! Corner punch (I think my all time favorite punch to use), Stampendous stamp that I found (the inside sentiment says "to thank you") at Michaels on a random shopping spree, and last but not least the brad is Stampin' Up! (THANKS MICHELLE!)

Oh - on this last one I use Stampin' Up! Cardstock for the base...To ink the stamp I used the markers from SU! because it just worked out better.
Also a note - I kept the card non-baby showerish so that she could use them for other things if she didn't need all 100 for the baby shower!

Thank You Cards Galore!

Hello Ladies!
Sorry for the absence of pictures...Nick is gone right now at school and that tends to make blogging difficult if I can't do it extremely early or extremely late! When he is gone I am whopped! By the way for those of you not on Facebook or Twitter - Another day down, and another test passed!! GO NICK!
Anywho...Here is the start of my MANY thank you cards. I was asked to do 100 thank you cards for a friend for her baby showers....yes 100 of them! I was so excited! To keep it simple I did just a couple variations of layouts, and really just differed the paper....I figured non-card people wouldn't care about the layout like I would anyways! Needless to say you will be seeing thank you cards for a while

Both of these cards are utilizing Stampin' Up! Cardstock and Designer Series paper. The stamp is also Stampin' Up! and one of the only Thank you stamps I have I found out! Glad I like it!

As stated, the layour is the same....I just varied it a bit...darker purple and added pink!

Gift for a School-Age Girl

One of my co-workers wanted something special for their daughter...and here it is!

I fell in love with this paper when I was shopping online at All That Scraps. I used the Stampin' Up! Corner Punch and crystal brads...the metal letters are the best and of course I still can't remember what they are but I love them!! Thanks Michelle!!
